More babies!

How fast our lives have turned from weddings to babies. I am so excited to say that my best friend, Jenni is due on April 25! Just 3 weeks after me. For those of you who don't know us we have lived across the street from each other since the age of 3 and have been best friends ever since and basically sisters b/c we both just have one older brother. We always dreamed of living close to each other (we are 4 miles apart) and having babies together...through the many months of praying God definitely had a plan for the both of us! We still can't believe it! And her brother and his wife are expecting their first baby only a day before Tim and Jen....crazy! So, we are just waiting and praying for our other friends to join us on the baby journey!

Oh...and something else funny to note. Growing up Jen and I lived in a neighborhood with two other girls, Vicki and Beth. We were known as the OCG's (Olive Center Girls). Vicki and Beth are both due in Oct/Nov! We will definitely have to have play dates next spring!

Yummy applesauce

Last night I went to grandpa and grandma De Jonge's to make applesauce. It's kind of a tradition we have started since we have been married. Brian loves grandma's applesauce. We made a lot more this year b/c we ran out way too early last year. 3 bags of apples, 3 hours later...and we were done! Good thing the Tigers game was on rain delay so we could get grandpa to help! Yummy...I can't wait to have some at dinner tonight!

Apple Picking

Yesterday we took our annual trip to Crane's to pick apples with Karen, Kate, Karinda and Kylie. (I know...we are all K's!) We wished it were fall b/c it was 'meat falling off the bone' hot (as Karen would say). We were so sweaty and hot so we picked pretty fast! It was still fun and we ate lunch there too and I bought some cider donuts....yummy!

It isn't really fall is it?

Sunday we went to mom and dad Meeuwsen's house after lunch and we went on the boat to Laketown. It was so nice out. It was even hot enough out to have to swim in the lake. It was 65 degrees so it wasn't too bad! Then at night we went to the state park to watch the sunset. It was a beautiful night.

Sleepover with our nieces

Friday night Karinda and Kylie stayed overnight at our house. After going to the pancake breakfast in Borculo Sat. morning they had a lot of fun with the neighbor girls riding their Gators around the house.

They also found the neighbors black cat so they sat in our driveway and played with her.

And of course we had to do something girly while Brian went into work so we made our own princess crowns. It was a lot of fun!

Then as promised if they took naps I told them I would take them to the OAC to play on the playground. It was a beautiful day and we had a lot of fun there!

Once we arrived home though the girls weren't too happy to see mom and dad at our house b/c they wanted to play with the neighbor girls more. We will just have to have them over again!

Nothing too exciting....

Our weekend seemed busy but nothing too exciting. Friday night Brian went to Berlin and I just stayed home and watched a couple of chick flicks. Saturday went shopping with my mom in Muskegon...bought some maternity clothes and went to Hot Rod Harley for their open house. It was pretty cool. Dad wanted to buy an outfit for the baby that said My grandpa drives a Harley but they didn't have any in. Maybe next time! Brian went to work for a couple hours on Sat. and just worked around the house. Saturday night we went to dinner and then to the races. We both had our long underwear on and many, many layers. It was chilly but fun b/c cousins Brad and Vicki met us there. I have a nasty head cold so I probably shouldn't have been out in the cold but I didn't want to sit home again. Sunday--same 'ole, church, lunch, nap, Bible Study, then Mike and Kim finally made it home from their honeymoon (after a long night in Denver airport!) so we went to their house to watch them open gifts. It was quite humorous b/c they tore right through them so fast that Gina couldn't keep up writing everything down! Their house is beautiful and almost done...just a few odds and ends. Sorry....no pics from the weekend.

More babysitting....

Last night Mitch had a softball game in Allendale so he dropped off Reese on the way. We borrowed Rylee's Burley so we could go for a bike ride, we played on the swing set for a while and then went inside to warm up. Reese was so funny watching Brian workout downstairs. Brian could hardly lift the weights b/c Reese would imitate what he was doing and it was so funny!

Reese trying so hard to pick up the weights.

And having too much fun with the exercise ball. It got the best of him a couple of times but he is a tough little guy!

And of course jumping on the poof chair. I hope we have little blondies as cute as him!

Big News!

We are excited to announce that we have a baby on the way!!!! It's been a long road and many months of patience, prayer and pills! But God is so good and we are ecstatic about the little miracle growing inside me! I am currently about 11 weeks along and due on April 5, 2008. I have felt great which I am very thankful for with working full time. Please continue to pray that the baby remains healthy and that it is a smooth pregnancy.

Here is a pic of the announcements we sent out:

Babysitting Jacob

Last night I got to babysit Jacob. He is so cute. Kathy and Grace came over to go for a walk with us so that was fun. Jacob slept for most of the ride but woke up to make sure he got his picture taken. He did miss his daddy putting him to bed....one week down buddy, two to go! And Martha must have gotten the memo from Kathy that scotcharoos are great pay! You girls know my weakness all too well!

Labor Day Weekend-Fun in the Sun!

We couldn't have had better weather this weekend! Friday I had the day off so Martha, Jacob, Amy, Sarah and I went to Martha's grandma's cottage on Lake MI. It was absolutely beautiful. Jacob was so good and even took a 3 hour nap!

Saturday we went up to Pentwater b/c Brian's parents were up there on their boat. They picked us up and then we went to Silver Lake for the day. It was beautiful. We got to hang out with the Grassmids so that was fun and we even got a ride from a guy from ZFS in his bronco in the dunes.

Sunday my parents and Mike and Kim came for lunch b/c I had some roast to get rid of before Karen drops off more beef for us. It was my first time making a roast and I have to say I think it turned out pretty dang good.

At night we went with Eric and Kate and the girls to Grand Haven to walk around and of course get ice-cream!

Monday Brian rode in the ZFS truck in the truck parade that goes from Zeeland to Holland. I met Kate and the girls there and then Brian and I took the girls to the pool for the afternoon so Eric and Kate could get some stuff done. Then it was off to G & G Meeuwsens at night for pizza.

It was a busy weekend but so fun! Now this week its my brothers wedding so another busy week but I can't wait! Tonight I get to babysit Jacob so I am pretty thrilled about that...he is definitely one of my favorite little buddies...such a good baby!
