Almost ready for baby!

This weekend we thought we better make a trip to Babies R Us and buy the car seat so we are fully prepared in case baby decides to come early. The rest of the stuff we can worry about later but we want to be able to take our baby home from the hospital! :o)
Several people have been bugging me that I need to take pictures of myself while I am pregnant. I personally don't think I am one of those 'cute pregnant' girls so I haven't taken many. So Sunday morning I told Brian he better take a picture of me so I don't regret it someday. So here ya go, a picture of me at 34 weeks.

Overall, I have been feeling pretty good. The only complaint I have is rib pain...it gets pretty bad at times and makes it uncomfortable to sleep. I have another doctors appt. this week then I go every week....ahh, time flies! I lost a pound last appt. and I am SURE that I made up for it the past two weeks. Everyone has been asking if I have my bags packed so I started on that last night. Overall, Brian and I are feeling very prepared so if baby decides to come early we are ready! Wishful thinking, eh?

Neighborhood Shower

Last night my neighbor Briana threw me a shower along with the other neighbor ladies. It was a lot of fun and once again Baby Meeuwsen went home with PLENTY of gifts. Lot of fun toys, more essentials and my mom bought the baby it's first Bible so I was really excited about that. It's so cute and I can't wait to read the stories to our little one. These are some fun outfits that Briana bought baby.

One of the games was everyone guessing how big Kelly's tummy was. The little girls guessed small and the ladies guessed too big...funny how perceptions can be so different! My niece Karinda and Kate my sister-in-law both came closest and won.

Yes, as you see all we have in our neighborhood is girls, girls, girls. The 3 neighbor ladies each have two and then there are my nieces so that makes 8 little girls that got to play together last night.

The second game was making a little baby out of play-doh. It was cute that the little girls got to play the games too...they seemed to have a lot of fun.

Kate and Karen busy making their play-doh babies.

Briana and I judging all the babies.

Friends Baby Shower

On Saturday my two best friends, Jenni and Kathy threw me the most unbelievable baby shower. The theme was "I love you baby" to go along with Valentine's Day and everything was absolutely perfect.

There were about 20 girls there so baby Meeuwsen was SPOILED! God has blessed Brian and I with the most amazing group of friends and each one of you girls are so special to me!

After brunch and games we dove into these yummy cookies!

Candace made baby this fun diaper cake...for now its on display in the nursery until we need to use the diapers!

And the five pregnant girls....me due April 5, Amy due April 24, Kathy due May 1, Stacey due July 25 and Martha due August 27...lots of babies due this spring/summer!

FRC Baby Shower

Monday night the staff at FRC threw me a baby shower at Crazy Horse. It was a lot of fun and I was overwhelmed with the gifts that they gave us. I am very fortunate to work at such a great place with awesome co-workers.

One of the gifts was our baby jogger. Brian was pretty excited about it so he put it together right away.

Pistons Game

On Sunday we were brave souls and we headed to Detroit for the Pistons game with Josh and Bobbie. We debated on going b/c of the roads and had to stop a couple of times on the way to see where we were going but we decided to give it a try. We saw about 15 accidents on the way (Josh was our official traffic control counter). Once we got going on the highway it was better and it was sunny in Detroit!

Here is Brian and Josh modeling the free camel hats they gave away to the first 7,500 fans. They are already planning on wearing them to MIS and rafting.

And here is the coldest that the Yukon showed. -5! Bbbbbrrrrrrr!

Winter Wonderland

I couldn't help but take a picture of our backyard last night when it was snowing. I love driving down our road to see all the snow covered trees...kind of makes you feel like you are driving though a tunnel. As much as people complain about winter I kind of like it and I don't know what I would do without all four seasons.

Weekend at the Cabbage

Yes, we call it the cabbage. Eric (Brian's brother) and Kate bought a place up north and its a log cabin but on a lake so we combined cabin and cottage to call it the Cabbage! Technically it is called Blue Beaver Lodge and it is a beautiful place. For more information for a nice getaway click here. Anyway, we went up there this weekend with Brian's family. Kate and Karen took down wallpaper and painted. Eric, Cliff and Brian did some snowmobiling and some odds and ends around the place and I took care of Karinda and Kylie.

This is what we did most of the weekend....played Barbies. :)

I even snuck out with Brian for a ride on the snowmobile for a little bit.

Brian and his mom hauled wood so we stayed nice and toasty all weekend with the fireplace.

Uncle Brian reading to the girls in the morning.

Saturday we needed to get outside (most of us had head colds) for some fresh air so I pulled the girls around on the sled and we found a little hill to go down.
Overall it was a wonderful relaxing weekend and we had a lot of fun together.
