Carter's last baby shower

Carter apparently didn't think he has enough stuff so the Top side of the family threw him a baby shower. :) They always wait til after the baby is born to throw one. He came home with lots of fun stuff!

Hanging out with grandpa Meeuwsen.
Here are the little girls digging for diaper pins in rice. They thought it was fun they could play the games too.
Grandma Meeuwsen spinning Brian to pin the pacifier on the baby.
Carter got all his stuff he needs to hang out by the pool at grandpa and grandma's house.

1st Weekend Away

This weekend we headed up to DeWitts cabin with Jason, Martha and Jacob and Dan, Amy and Norah. The first night we put the boys in the double jogger and headed to the trout pond while the boys did some fishing. On the way back Jacob was getting a little sleepy so Carter shared his pipe. Jacob is a sneaky little guy...we didn't find that pipe back all weekend! :)
Saturday we headed over to the cottage at Big Star so the guys could spread bark. The girls walked down to find Jeff, Heidi & Caden. Jacob wanted to feel the water so we stripped him down. Norah was back at the cabin with great grandpa and grandma Huyser and Carter took a nap in the Baby Bjorn. It was cute to watch Caden and Jacob play together.
And as usual Norah and Carter did what they do best...sleep!

Thanks Jason and Martha for a fun weekend!!

My busy week

I have been lots of places this week! Tuesday I went to visit my friend Jackson. Mommy and her friend Kathy call us the mini Brian's b/c everyone says we look just like our daddies.
Yesterday mommy had Aunt Kate do her hair so I got to hang out with my cousins and grandma.
Last night Uncle Mike had a birthday so we went to his and Aunt Kim's house for ice cream cake. And today I went to visit my girlfriend Norah. Yep, I was even a sly guy and snuck my arm around her.

This weekend mom and dad are taking me up north with my friends Jacob and Norah...I sure am excited to have a sleep over with them!

More babies...

I am SO EXCITED to announce that my best friend Jen is pregnant again!! As most of you know Addison Paige was taken to heaven when Jen was only 22 weeks pregnant. So many have been praying for Jen and Tim and I can't even count how many people have asked me how she has been doing. It was hard to keep my mouth shut for a few weeks but now the word is out and Jen and Tim are so excited. She is due Dec. 18. Please continue to keep them in your prayers as you can imagine the wave of emotions that they are feeling. Here is the shirt that I gave to Jenni.
Saturday night we had a baby shower for Stacey (on the right). She is due July 25. It was a lot of fun to get together with the girls. Lisa (on the left) threw a great shower and the games even went along with Stacey's love for People magazine. It was so fun! The bottom pic is Stacey showing the burp clothes and bibs that Jen made...once again Miss Crafty!

My 1st Mother's Day

Carter started off Mother's Day weekend on the right note. Him and his friend Jacob took their mommy's out to dinner Saturday night to Crazy Horse while their daddy's were off to the Red Wings game. Martha and I are trying our best to get Jacob used to a new baby. They babysat Carter for a little bit in the afternoon and since Carter was sleeping Jacob thought he had to nap too...now we can only wish that will happen when baby #2 arrives, right Martha? :) As you can see Jacob loves Carter things...he always has to empty out his diaper bag and check everything out and he likes his car seat too. When he comes to our house he hangs out in the bouncy seat. :)

Sunday morning Carter woke me up with new 600 count sheets for our bed...they are AWESOME and super soft! Something I have wanted but didn't want to spend the money on. I can't believe how much the count # in sheets makes a difference. He is quite the practical little guy. After church we headed to Brian's parents for lunch. As you can see it was just too much for Carter. :)

At night my family came to our house for dinner. My mom bought me the book Let Me Hold You Longer by Karen Kingsbury. It is so cute and will make you cry! Definitely reminds me to cherish every single moment with Carter b/c some of those moments only last so long!

Our Little Dutch Boy

Tuesday night we went downtown to watch Jenni dutch dance and capture some pictures. Hopefully we can go again tomorrow night to get some more and watch Jenni again.
Here is Jen with the little dutch couple, Carter and Norah. Jen made both costumes...so cute! And she showed up with shoes with their names on them...they are two spoiled babies!
Yesterday Jen, Carter and I headed downtown to the parade. What did Carter do the whole time? Yep, slept! He has missed out on a lot of things in life already...if he only knew! :)
We met the DeWitts and Bouwens downtown. Martha and her mom were nice enough to go downtown at 6 am to get us good seats. Here is Carter and Gabe and their moms.
Jacob and Gabe telling each other how cute they look in their costumes.

Carter's Busy Weekend

I started off my weekend by visiting mommy's friend Kathy's new baby, Jackson. I am excited to have a buddy so close in age to me to play with!
Saturday me, mommy and Tim cheered on daddy and Jen as they ran the 5K race in Zeeland. Daddy finished 17th overall and 3rd in his age group despite his sore legs and the strong winds...go dad!
Then we went to Borculo for the pancake breakfast and the Dandelion parade. The parade had loud noises so I just slept the whole time.
When we got home Josh was ready to see me. He claims he doesn't have the baby itch...yeah right!
Saturday night mom and dad took me to Beechwood Inn to celebrate Grandpa De Jonge's 80th birthday with her whole family. Everyone just passed me around so they all could hold me.

Last night grandpa and grandma Meeuwsen came over to babysit me so mom and dad could go to a concert at church..phew...I am pooped out so mom and I are just chilling out today! Need to save my energy for the Tulip Time festivites this week!

Huge surprise...the greatest friend ever

So at the ballgame last night Debi said Jen was working on something and said, oh you don't know? I was like, no, why? She said, oh I will have to have Jen show you. So I talked to Jen last night and was like, what are you working on? Something that your mom is helping you with or something??? And she said, oh I will show you tomorrow. So today Jen and I had a day of shopping planned so she comes over and says, oh I brought what I was working on. So low and behold she takes it out of the bag and she made a dutch costume for Carter!!!!!!!!!!! I started to cry...she is amazing and the greatest friend ever. I know I have mentioned it before but SHE IS! It is fricken adorable! We put it on him b/c she is finishing some of it up for size and it is ADORABLE!!! He looks so cute. Sorry...you will have to wait for pics next week! She made one for her brother's new baby Norah too so we will have to make sure we meet downtown next week and take pics of the babies.

Thank you Jenni! You are the best and Carter loves you so much!

Old Timers vs. Young Guys

Last night Brian's softball team played a game for fun against the old Bilmar team. They had a ton of fun and those old guys were pretty good!

Here's the Bilmar team reunited (with a few subs).

Brian swinging hard!
