Post Family Farm

Yesterday afternoon Carter and I met Vicki and Alyssa at Post Family Farm for some fun.

Alyssa loved Carter...he wasn't too sure of that little girl full of smiles!
We took a hayride out to the pumpkin patch to help Vicki and Alyssa find the perfect pumpkin.

The little bugger was to into the grass, stems, and pumpkins to get a smile...oh well!
We finished off the afternoon with some apple cider and pumpkin donuts...yum!

Little Liam

This morning I took Jen to go see Liam. I hadn't seen him since the day he was born so I was anxious to go again. We got there about 10:45 so we could be there for his 11:00 'care' as they call it. Change diaper, feed, and cuddle! He is doing SO GOOD! He was moved to the intermediate care unit so that is just one more step closer to home! We even got to play dress up and put his first official outfit on him. The nurse changed all his blankies to Liam's blankies too so that was nice. Make him feel as at home as possible. They laughed when they saw the wardrobe we brought in...if they only knew Jen! :)

Ah! Flash was a little bright!

He was wiggling when I took this one...he was used to being all swaddled up!

Thanks to Kate and the girls for watching Carter! And thanks to whoever called and left a message to offer to watch him! I didn't recognize the voice (you forgot to say who you were!) and I didn't recognize the cell #. Maybe next time! :)

Our rainy day activity

Well I had high hopes of taking Carter outside today and taking pictures in the leaves, by the pumpkins, mums, etc. but after lunch I noticed it was raining. So what's better? Baking! Carter loves to sit in his hook on chair by the counter so he stayed busy licking the spatula for me (just kidding!) and we had fun making cookies! Yep, we are both still in our PJ's...I LOVE lazy days of just me and him playing and hanging out together.

and Rachel just for the record that's 5 posts in the last week! :)

Liam's Lil' Pumpkin Shower

This morning Jenn Augustine and I threw Jen De Haan a shower to celebrate the arrival of Liam. We did a Lil' Pumpkin theme. We played 3 games---the first everyone had to weigh their purse on the baby scale and whomevers was closest to Liam's weight won. Then we played a Lil' Pumpkin trivia game with pumpkin questions and then we played the Price is Right. Jen was definitely showered with gifts too and has a lot of fun stuff to put away in the nursery...which is adorable! All in all it was a really fun day!

6 month stats

We had Carter's 6 month appt. today and he is doing great. He weighed 16 lbs. 13 oz. and was 27 1/4 inches long. So the 25th percentile for weight and between the 50th and 75th for height. He has a couple of clogged tear ducts so his eyes are a mess but hopefully they clear up soon. The shots were of course fun as always, not! He took great naps today though! Otherwise the doctor said he is right on track. We are so thankful for such a healthy and good little guy!

We had his 6 month pics taken last week so if you click here and type in carter for the password you can check them out. Considering he cried that night when I came home from work and all the way to Carlia's house they didn't turn out too bad. We squeezed out a few smiles!

Liam Marcus DeHaan

We'll Carter, Jace, Deacon, Jacob, and Norah (and many more) must have been praying harder than their mommy and daddy's b/c they wanted another friend in this world so Liam Marcus DeHaan decided to come today! He was 3 lbs. 13 oz. and 17 inches. Check out DeHaan's blog for more pics and details. I headed up to Spectrum tonight and got to go down with Tim and Jen to see him. He is so sticken cute and is doing amazingly well! And for those of you wondering, yes, the shower is still on for Saturday so be there! :)

Last week in review

Nothing too exciting happening lately but Carter has been keeping us busy. We started baby food this week and he LOVES it. I think we have tried about every fruit and veggie and he eats all of them so its great!

We have been hanging with Jen on our days off and Carter loves to sit by the window and antagonize the cat. I have some video of him laughing like crazy and its so sticken cute.
Saturday night we had Jeff's (from ZFS) wedding in GR. Fowler's rode with us and we met up with Josh and Bobbie Jo at the reception. Jeff bowls on Wed. nights with Brian, Heathe and Josh.

Yesterday our neighbor girl Sydney (Big Syd as we call her) turned one so we went over there for lunch. Her and Carter are starting to interact with each other so its really cute.

Weekend Recap (from Carter)

I had a fun filled and busy weekend. Friday night my mommy and daddy took me to DeHaan's along with Baumann's to hang out and have some pizza. Tim and Jen have a really sweet new camera so they took lots of pics of me. Jace and I happened to have the same outfits along so we had a photo shoot as well. I am 4 months older but he weighs about as much as me already! :) We can't wait for Baby DeHaan so we can put the 3 of us in the chair. Our moms and dads think we might cause trouble someday being so close in age and living so close together.

Saturday mommy and I went to Zeeland to ride on the ZFS (daddy's work) float. Grandma De Jonge came to help take some pictures and watch me ride in my first parade.

We sat and waiting a LONG time b/c we were at the end of the route so mommy had to keep me giggling by putting me upside down.

Here is me and all my cousins (some 2nd cousins). Yep, we are ALL Meeuwsens! The future of ZFS...scary, eh?

Grandma snapped a pic of me and mom along the parade route.

Today we went to Grandpa and Grandma Meeuwsen's for Grandpa's b-day but mom left my camera at Tim and Jen's so sorry no pics of today! I am chilling in my jumparoo right now and watching Baby Einstein. Tomorrow mom and I get to bring Jen to GR to her doctor...I love Jenni and am ready for my buddy to come out of her belly but mom says its not time yet.

So big!

First of all a big THANK YOU to everyone for the cards, emails, comments, phone calls, etc. with the loss of our grandpa. Our family was overwhelmed by the turn out at visitation and the funeral. Grandpa touched a lot of lives and it was so nice for everyone to come out and show their love to my grandma.

After the funeral on Tuesday I picked up Carter and went back to my grandmas. My mom plunked him on the floor and he sat by himself! He thought he was quite big stuff.

Last night we went downtown Zeeland for pumpkin fest with DeWitts and it was a bit chilly so we warmed up and ate dinner at Franks. This was Carter's first time in a high chair so he thought he was pretty cool. We hoped to get some more pics but it was just too cold. Hopefully Saturday (look for us on the ZFS float!).

Since Carter is sitting pretty good we switched bath tubs. This one is just a nice little inflatable one so you don't have to fill the whole tub. We put bubbles and toys in it and he was in his glory!
