Trey's First Haircut

A couple of weeks ago it was definitely time for Trey to get a trim. His hair over his ears was getting a little out of control and driving Brian nuts. Here is a before picture:

Not too sure about Miss Mindy's clippers. He actually did great. Just got a little antsy toward the end.
Checking out what tool she is using next.

Our little church boy. :)
I never posted on his weight follow up but he gained back over a pound in a month so he is doing just fine. Actually now he is a GREAT eater and cries if you don't get it too him fast enough. He pretty much eats all table foods and likes most everything. He's also getting ready for his first birthday and will show you that he is going to be one. And within the last couple days he is breaking his own thumb sucking habit...his poor thumb is so callused and swollen that he won't suck it so he cries before naps and bedtime but hey...if he breaks that habit already I would be happy! Wishful thinking probably. :) He also pulls himself to standing and will walk around furniture now....hoping he is walking by the time it's spring outside. And of course he is into everything his brother wants to play with!

February Fun

Another winter month is past...yeah! Brian and Carter started off the month by going to a donkey basketball game in Ravenna. I guess these used to be really popular back in the day. It looked pretty interesting and fun!
The kids even got to take a ride on the donkeys. Carter thought it was pretty cool. His pal Sharon helped keep him on.
Carter and his BFF Sydney (our neighbor) pretending they were going to Grandma's. They hauled more stuff into this corner! Enjoying a morning outside with mom while Trey was napping.
The first weekend in February Eric and Kate and the girls came home from Nebraska so we headed up to their cabin to enjoy some time together. Carter LOVES his cousins and had a blast with them all weekend.

Taking a ride with mom.

Carter and Grandma Karen sledding behind Uncle Eric with the rest of the gang looking on. For more pictures of the weekend check out the Never Say Never blog.
Kylie hanging out with Trey.

And Karinda helping Trey 'ride' the bear. These girls are going to be great babysitters soon enough!
Carter and Brian went to the Monster Jam at Van Andel. They had a lot of fun and it will be more fun as the boys get older. Carter got spoiled with snacks and souvenirs from daddy.

Carter's favorite truck...Grave Digger!

My parents had us over for a Valentines themed lunch...complete with a red velvet cake made by me. :)
I spotted this possum at my moms...YUCK!! Those things give me the creeps and it wouldn't disappear. Carter kept saying how cute it was...gross!! We couldn't even chase it away. Our two little dudes causing trouble in the tub as always!
Our backyard wildlife.
Hoping all this snow melts in March!

Trey at 9 months

Our baby is growing way too fast! He was 9 months on the 20th and unfortunately got the flu the day after. It was a rough week for the little guy b/c he couldn't keep anything down but is finally on the mend now! Unfortunately he passed it along to several of our family members but thankfully not to any of us! We had his 9 month appt. on Monday and he was only 17 lbs. 3 oz. and 28 1/2 inches. He was only in the 3rd percentile for weight and I think about the 50th for height. We have to go back in a month for a weight check. He is busy on the move and crawling and driving his brother nuts! He is much more busier than Carter ever was...just trying to keep up with him! Here are some pictures of our adorable little man at his photo shoot from Saturday. A fun comparison picture of Carter at 9 months. I think Trey is starting to look more like his momma. :)
Carter was 19 lbs. even and 28 3/4 inches at 9 months. So Trey is catching up with Carter's length but almost 2 lbs. lighter. He did start crawling about 2 months earlier than Carter too so I am sure he is burning more calories in a day. And doesn't like to eat like his brother did either...hoping that starts changing soon. He is still a very content and happy baby and is a super sleeper like his brother. We didn't have to baby proof the house a bit for Carter but Trey gets into everything so we are going to have to start!

Birthday Boy Brian

Today Brian turned 31! We celebrated by having both of our families over for lunch (minus my mom...Trey must have thought he needed to give the flu bug to both grandmas). Carter thought daddy needed a monster truck cake so here is what I came up with.

It was appropriate b/c I bought tickets for Brian and Carter to go to the Monster Jam coming up.

Carter and cousin Kasen chilling on the pouf chair.
Singing Happy Birthday. Notice Trey reaching for the candle....thank goodness Grandpa Jim grabbed him in time!
We also bought Brian a TV stand for our new TV (well...hopefully this will push him to buy one) :). It required assembling and Carter thought Handy Manny should come help but it went together really well...just took some time!

Weekend Away

Last weekend we planned to head up to Eric and Kate's cabin with our neighbors to go snowmobiling for the weekend. Unfortunately Trey threw up after we dropped him off at grandma's house. So...back we went to pick the kiddos up. We thought he was better Saturday a.m. so we decided to head up north. We had a GREAT time. Even though it was a short trip we still put 100+ miles on the sleds and had a blast.

First stop to get some gas.

Me and Brian.
Beautitul scenery at the cabin. It was -24 that morning but gorgeous!

Heathe and Briana (who is 1/2 the size of that coat!).
Unfortunately little Trey was sick all weekend and had the flu for 6 days. And Grandma Karen got it too...we felt horrible. Amazingly none of the rest of us got it. Looking forward to heading back up next weekend!

New Years

New Years Eve we headed up to Eric and Kate's cabin since they were home from Nebraska. Here Brian is trying to buck Carter off the little black bear foot stool.
Since they weren't home for Christmas we celebrated it with them up at the cabin. The girls already have American Girl Dolls so this year they got the Target version....which came with a lot of fun stuff!
Brian got a new messenger bag for work. Now he can quit taking his reusable grocery bag. :)

Trey taking a ride on his new zebra.

As you can see there wasn't enough snow for snowmobiling so thankfully our neighbors let us take their quad up. Brian kept the kids entertained for hours!!

Ringing in the New Year with Grandma Karen.

Trey is so excited for 2011!

Christmas in Review

Our best gift of 2010!
Carter helping Grandpa Jim (and everyone else) open his present.

Family pic at mom and dad's before heading home.

Stockings Christmas morning....so excited!!! LOVE this picture even though their eyes are closed.
Christmas morning helping Grandpa Cliff open his present.

Self timer picture Christmas night before it's too late!
Blowing out the candles on Jesus' birthday cake. Carter was quick to correct me that Jesus's birthday was before daddy's. :)

We had a wonderful Christmas with our families and were spoiled as always. Each year is more fun with Carter as he is starting to learn more and more about the true meaning of Christmas.
