Not What I Was Expecting

Brian and I went to the doctor today and it turns out that I have a few signs that may lead to preeclampsia so he told me I needed to quit work. I was quite shocked b/c I just always assumed I would go late since nothing has been happening but apparently baby Meeuwsen might want to come early! I was at least dialated 1.5 cm today so that was a good sign. The doctor wants to see me again on Monday to make sure things haven't gotten worse. The heartbeat was still in the 140's and the head was down so that was good.

So I worked til 6:30 tonight to get everything done that I could think of! At least they have me all hooked up to work from home so I can at least log in and still get some things done if need be. This afternoon my boss went and bought ice-cream for everyone to either celebrate or mourn my last day (not sure which one it was, ha, ha). FRC is an amazing place to work and everyone has been so caring and saying many prayers for us throughout this pregnancy...they are great people and I will miss them while I am on maternity leave!

If you could keep Brian, baby, and I in your prayers over the next week or so as we are in the home stretch we would really appreciate it! We are so excited to meet this little bundle of joy that God has blessed us with.

Happy Birthday Karinda!

Today our niece Karinda turns 5! We celebrated last night with pizza and of course a barbie cake! She is in a princess phase so we gave her a princess pillow that opens up and has stories inside. When we got to their house she was dressed up like Dorothy...red glitter shoes and all. It was so cute.

38 Weeks!

Boers Baby Shower

Tonight my Aunt Barb and Aunt Sal threw me a baby shower for my mom's side of the family. They did a great job. We had yummy food, fun games and more gifts for our little babushka. Here are the cute cookies that we had....they were yummy!

ha,ha....today we got the Tulip Time Run flyer in the mail and Brian was joking that he was in the picture of the runners. Then he looked down at the other pics and there he really was! Front and center. He is in another pic in it to but you have to know its him or you wouldn't be able to tell. Here is the link to the flyer:

37 weeks is just around the corner...

I went to the doctor today hoping something was happening since last week but no change. The baby is pretty content in my big belly and isn't budging. Not dilated yet...few other things have been changing so at least something is happening. Looks like we will have an April baby...which is fine with both of us! It is starting to get uncomfortable to sleep with the rib pain and getting up to go to the bathroom all the time but other than that no complaints. I will definitely be ready in 3 weeks though! My doctor leaves for vacation next week so I get to go back on Tuesday already so we shall see if anything changes.

Oh and my Group B Strep test came back negative so that is one less thing to worry about. I am pretty thrilled that the Glucose test was good, the Group B Strep was good and I have a positive blood type...makes things a lot less complicated for which I am thankful.

Most doctors don't ever bring it up but mine has done it several times so most of them are familiar with it. I think it will become very popular over the next few years.

Our crazy cat

Our cat Lucky is quite the character. For some reason she loves to hang out on the bathroom counter when we get ready. I know, bad habit, I can thank Jen for that one. She used to let her cat drink out of the faucet and so I let Lucky do that once and now she thinks she needs fresh water all the time. For some reason today she thought it would be comfy to lay in the sink...it cracked me up and I was surprised she let me take a picture of her none the less! Yep, she's spoiled! Good thing we are having a baby so we have something else to spoil. :)
