Trey Turns Two!

On Treys's actual birthday, April 20, we headed to Chuck E Cheese's with just the five of us for some fun.  The boys had a BLAST and it was a cheap, fun, entertaining time! Surprisingly they both liked Chuck E.  It took Trey a little bit to warm up to him but soon they were both dancing with him.

Once we got home we continued celebrating with cupcakes from Holland Cakery (surprise, surprise) and the boys got to open one last gift from Grandpa Cliff and Grandma Karen that we had saved (new chairs!).

I think the boys got the best deal by combining their big birthday party this year they actually had 3 special days to celebrate!  Trey buddy, we love you to pieces despite your tantrums and angry moments you are a sweetheart that loves to please everyone and loves to cuddle.  You definitely fit the roll of a middle child...you look up to your big brother and want to do everything he can and always are helping your little sister.   You are the cutest little boy ever and you melt our hearts with your little looks!  And you will always be our little Linus with your thumb in the mouth and blankie over the shoulder. :)

Jade @ 6 months

We finally had Jade's 6 month appt. last week and she weighed in at 13 lbs. 14 oz (5th %) and was 25.5 inches (25th %) so she is still our little peanut. Carter and Trey were a good 15 and 16 lbs. at this age. Once again she wasn't a fan of the shots and was a little sensitive for a couple days and had a fever. I think this picture explains 6 months the best...she loves to grab and eat her toes!
She is still a great baby and very content and happy. She does like her momma just a tad. :) She still takes two great naps, sometimes a cat nap at night and sleeps about 8-8. She continues to LOVE her brothers and Carter can make her giggle like no one else can. Him and I often fight over who gets to hold her. :) She definitely is a wiggle worm and I think she is going to be a busy little girl. She reaches and grabs for EVERYTHING. Even when you hold her she either buries herself in your neck or tries to grab and eat your face. :) Love you little miss! Can't believe you are 1/2 way to ONE already!

Easter 2012

The weekend before Easter we went to my Grandma's assisted living home for an Easter Egg hunt. Even though Grandma doesn't always remember the kids she sure loves them to pieces.
Carter, Trey and Kasen patiently waiting for it to start.
Mommy and Jade trying to stay warm.
Great Grandma helping Carter fill his bag.
Mom and Kim helping the boys look in the bushes.
On Maundy Thursday we had a great service at church where we took communion and all got to hammer a nail on the cross. This was pretty special for Carter and it's neat how each year he understands things more and more. On Easter we headed to a PACKED church and then went to my parents house for lunch. Yep, this is the best picture we got of the kids. Ha, and the family one isn't much better!

The Boy's Birthday Bash

Wow, what a fun day we had yesterday celebrating the boy's birthdays. Carter was 4 on March 28 and Trey will be 2 on April 20 so it made most sense to do a combined party for them. Let's just say...it worked out GREAT!!! This was by far the least stressful party for me yet! :) We told the boys on Friday that daddy had been working on a special present for them so since 6:30 Saturday morning Carter had his nose to the window waiting for the 'delivery guy' to bring him his present. 10:00 am couldn't come soon enough! Yes, the boys now have their own real life monster truck!!! (unfortunately my good camera broke so these pics are not the greatest quality)
Greg, Brian's co-worker, has spent countless hours over the past 4 months helping Brian getting it ready to go. Brian would go to Greg's every Wednesday night and then Saturday afternoons while the kids napped. Brian is forever indebted to him! Part of the deal was that Greg got to drive it up the driveway to give it to the boys. I am so glad we video taped it b/c Carter was beyond excited...it's so cute! Here are the boys giving Greg a little gift for all his help.

The personalized plate Brian and I picked out a few months ago. I have a feeling Jade and I may have many shopping trips coming up while the boys play in the dunes. :)
The finished product...this was actually the first time I seen it in person and I have to admit I was pretty impressed. All strapped in and ready for a ride! Unfortunately one of the last parts they put in didn't work as planned so the boys made it into town and then also experienced being towed back to Greg's. But they didn't care; they at least got a ride! So hopefully next weekend we can all go for a ride.
Then after naps our family and friends came over for their 'Cars' themed party. Or as Carter would say, his Lightnin McQueen and Mater party.

The food aka Pit Stop table.

After dinner it was time for presents. Can we say spoiled????
Carter, Trey and Jade by the gifts. Yep, even Jade put her Cars party skirt on. :)

Quick family pic before cake and ice-cream.

The race car cake I made. By far the easiest cake I have made.
Blowing out candles with Liam and Sydney helping.
Phew, what a day! The perfect ending was a big hug and kiss and thank you from Carter before he went to bed. That definitely made all the hard work worth it. We love you boys!
